Y-bearings with grub screws in the inner ring are locked in position on the shaft by tightening the two cup point hexagonal grub (set) screws, positioned 120� apart. The bearings are suitable for applications where the direction of rotation is constant or alternating. Two different standard designs are available. Y-bearings in the YAT 2 series have an inner ring extended on one side , and are sealed with the rugged standard "Superagriseal" . The outer ring has two lubricating holes as standard. Y-bearings in the YAR 2 series have an extended inner ring on both sides . This reduces the extent to which the inner ring can tilt on the shaft, which enables the bearing to run more smoothly. The fast way to re-grease your bearings is by just shooting grease in the bearings, screwing the cone back in, flipping the wheel over, hold the cone of the bearing you've just greased, grab the axle now facing up, unscrew it to reveal the other side's bearings and pack them with grease. But the proper way is by taking everything off, clean all the cones, hub cups, bearings, and repack with grease. Reassemble. Screw the bearing cone back into place, but not too tight. Bearings should be able to roll smoothly without axle play. Tighten the lock nut into place and check again.

Open-die forging is also known as smith forging. In open-die forging, a hammer strikes and deforms the workpiece, which is placed on a stationary anvil.
